Is anyone aware of a report/s on the effectiveness of EPRS following a double blind, independently conducted, experiment?

Mate is considering one so I did a search and all the threads here are full of opinion (and everyone has one of those) or advertising hype. The people with an ERPS seem to only defend them and the people without them are several hundred bucks better off. The ERPS website has several Testimonials that I put in with the rest of the opinions hence my search for some scientific support for the claims of effectiveness.

Overlander did an article on them some years back but they never did a follow-up which, to me, was a lost opportunity (or careful avoidance of an advertiser's product. Sad

I wrote to them and asked for a follow-up article but as far as I'm aware it never happened.

I'm afraid that until proven otherwise, it's snake oil.

Where's the rust Ronin?
Have you driven in salt water? Lots of boat launching?

I have a 99 GU, lots of boat launching (boat ramp not beach), lots and lots of beach driving, no ERPS and no real rust other than some minor surface stuff on chassis after scrapes.

I don't know of any tests BUT why don't you ring Parks and Wildlife and ask them if they use them on their beach run vehicles. They would give you an unbiased opinion.

Or you could believe me and I'll tell you they don't work because I have already asked them Wink

ERPS

Personally I don't trust this system...I have heard to many bad stories. And I've had no rust problems with the old spray on over the years so why change. Then again I don't drive through salt water (plenty of beach driving) or back the 4WD into the water when I launch the boat.

If you keep out of the surf, and wet sand, driving on the beach is no diferent than driving or parking the Falcodore on an Esplanade...

one of the hire mobs did a test a few years ago. (cars going to Fraser Island every day)

They got two new troopies on the same day, did a traditionaly stinky sticky rust proffing to one, ERPS to the other.

After just six months they new not to fit anymore ERPS!

lots of fishoil, or common sense, a bit of rindsing and some paint when needed should be all that is needed.
