it will be time for its 10'000k service soon and I have been told that the service code needs to be cleared for that as well, anyone know how to do that
Thanks Martin

Why would the low oil light come on if you drained the oil, then refilled it without starting the engine??

i assume the filter was done too, hence the low pressure at start up.

yes gen. oil filter and 15w40 oil

what this low oil sign is doing it pops up in your speedow window for 12sec's and goes off even if the engine is not running with ign on its always 12sec's or there about then the low oil warning disappears and the speedow comes back
Thanks Martin

If this motor is also used in the US - it may well be OBDII compliant and you could access the codes & reset using an external accessory, I have one for my Mazda 3 MPS, does readouts real time off sensors like RPM, water temp, intake temp, thottle position, manifold pressure (boost), speed, and more.

It can also retrieve codes and clear them as well.

Shame you aren't near me, we could give it a go. My GU Patrol (4.5 Petrol) does not support this as it isn't sold in the US market.

From the workshop manual...

WARNING LAMPS PFP:24814
System Description EKS00MHA
OIL PRESSURE WARNING LAMP

Oil Pressure Warning
Oil pressure warning lamp turns ON when engine oil pressure reducing abnormally.

IPDM E/R reads oil pressure switch signal from oil pressure switch, and transmits the signal to combination meter with CAN communication.

Combination meter turns oil pressure warning lamp ON with received oil pressure switch signal.

Oil Level Warning
If engine oil level is 15 mm below low level of oil level gauge, oil level warning is detected.

Oil pressure warning lamp blinks and “OIL Lo” is displayed on odo/trip meter display, when oil level warning is detected.

Oil level warning is displayed during ignition switch ON for 30 seconds after engine oil maintenance information is displayed for 5 seconds.
Combination meter reads oil level signal from oil level sensor.
When combination meter judges oil level warning condition by oil level signal, oil level warning is displayed.

NOTE:
Oil level is gauged when the driver door is open.
Oil level is not gauged for 5 minutes after ignition switch OFF to wait oil falling down from cylinder head.

Doesnt say how to reset it, but checking the oil level would be my first port of call. then id be clearing the code. that can be done with my Scangauge.

You sure you didnt accidentally remove the connector for the level switch?
